Scottish Country Dancing
This is the traditional social dancing of Scotland. It includes lively jigs and reels, and elegant strathspeys, danced with a variety of partners in sets. It is energetic group dancing with friendly people and wonderful music.

The classes in Monterey and Santa Cruz are official classes of the non-profit Royal Scottish Country Dance Society - San Francisco Branch. Following training and examinations, our instructors have all earned Teacher Certification from the RSCDS.
Come and join in the fun!
You don't need a partner, or kilt, to attend. Wear comfortable clothing and soft-soled shoes that are neither sticky nor slippery. Dancing is great exercise, and it is also good for your brain!
